About
“Can I introduce myself? I’m a man of panache and wealth,” Rod Stewart sings with a wink to the Stones, rocking the title track’s steel guitar and honky-tonk piano. This 1980 album was dedicated to those who “enjoy a laugh and a drink,” and Stewart maintains that mood throughout—declaring his love over cascading sax on “My Girl” and lamenting the tyranny of distance on “Oh God, I Wish I Was Home Tonight,” which echoes the thumping folk rock of his youth.
