The third installment of Cold Chisel’s Live Tapes series shows the band in full voice, just as <i>East</i> was released. Nine songs from that album make the cut here, as well as spot-on covers of “Shakin’ All Over” and “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” It’s a sweaty time capsule, immortalized right before Cold Chisel would break it big with <i>East</i> tracks “Choirgirl” and “Cheap Wine.” <i>Vol. 3</i> is a reminder that you can take the band out of the pub, but you can’t take the pub out of the band.
