There’s phone-swiping modern ennui aplenty in the vignettes on this pulsating debut from Brooklyn-based duo Alex Luciano and Noah Bowman. But, crucially, each piece of millennial snark—spiky anthem “Link In Bio”, say—comes bathed in Luciano’s timeless, thrillingly urgent guitar. “Sixteen” unfurls to rail against slut-shaming, “Blob Zombie” showcases the deft delirium of Bowman’s drumming and “Tummy Ache” (“‘Cos it’s hard to be a punk while you’re wearing a skirt”) triumphantly drops the curtain on a pop-punk masterclass.
