About

Coming off the polished pop of The Glow, Bonnie Raitt lets loose on Green Light, updating her soulful, rootsy sound for the era of ’80s rockers like Rockpile and The Blasters. "Willya Wontcha" almost sounds like Springsteen, with Raitt slurring her words over a twisting rockabilly beat, while "Me and the Boys" describes a night of mischief over a playful, sliding guitar riff. Things only slow down for “Let’s Keep It Between Us,” a Bob Dylan–penned blues strut lined with an intimate, simmering organ line.
