Reuniting the classic Primus lineup to record original music for the first time since 1995, <i>The Desaturating Seven</i> is a concept album based on a children’s book called <i>The Rainbow Goblins</i>. Channeling their prog-rock roots, the band filters a fairy tale of color-eating goblins through adventurous time signatures, skronky-tonk guitar work, and ringleader Les Claypool’s nasal vocal intonations and bulbous basslines. This is Primus as fun-loving, boisterous, and ambitious as ever.
