Comprising unreleased material from sessions for 2014’s <i>Once More ’Round the Sun</i> and 2017’s <i>Emperor of Sand</i>, <i>Cold Dark Place</i>’s songs—all suite-like and multipart—touch on big-muscle power ballads (“Toe to Toes”), boggy Southern folk (“Cold Dark Place”), and yes, the Bee Gees, albeit in a thunderously bad mood (“Blue Walsh”).
