About
On their fourth LP, UK's Steel Pulse deliver an affecting roots-rock reggae set that explores Rastafarian spirituality and universal morality. “Chant a Psalm” finds the earnest-voiced David Hinds trading Bible verses with his harmonizing bandmates over buoyant percussion, while the album’s rousing centerpiece, "Worth His Weight in Gold (Rally Round)," passionately pairs the teachings of Jamaican hero Marcus Garvey with dubby groove. Basil Gabbidon’s guitar flourishes add musicality throughout, giving punchy accent to “Blues Dance Raid” and laying gentle, bluesy lilt beneath the yearning vocals of introspective ballad “Your House.”
