Leading a quartet, Garcia displays agility and a dark, muscular tone. Drummer Femi Koleoso lays down one relentless, unusually patterned groove after another. Joe Armon-Jones, on piano and keyboards, gives the music a mysterious harmonic sheen, while bassist Daniel Casimir locks in with grit and unerring precision.
