Dedicated to Rossen’s recently deceased father, the album taps into a dreamy, vaudevillian baroque pop that playfully leaps from one motif to the next. “Teenagers” is the record’s most blatantly theatrical moment, while songs like the title track weave a wide-eyed mysticism into a subtle, mournful almanac of sounds.
