About
Like 1966's In My Life, Wildflowers features dramatic orchestral arrangements by Joshua Rifkin and songs by exciting new voices on the folk scene. A lush, string-driven version of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" amplifies the song's melancholy tone, while a soothing take on Leonard Cohen's "Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye" closes the set on a warm note. But Collins' first self-penned songs, like the naturalistic "Sky Fell" and the gently haunting "Since You Asked," are among the strongest material here.
