After Pixies disbanded in the nineties, they left a large body of singles and B-sides that were relatively tough to track down compared to their popular LPs. Thus, this Complete B-Sides record simplifies the task of hunting down the non-album tracks. The album was released in March of 2001 on 4AD. It is a testament to the strength of Pixies that, despite the fact these songs (or these versions of some of their more well-known songs) were not on their full-lengths, these tunes are very strong. The band is generally revered for their amazing sense of songwriting dynamics and unconventional .
