About
"Up in it" is probably the Afghan Whigs real first album. Coming out in 1990 on Sub Pop, it cut a dark, haunting path into the psyche of the Amercian male. Most of the songs deal are strewn together in a blistering, guitar-blaring, fast pace. I hear the voice of somebody in a great deal of pain in Greg Dulli's voice. Lyrics deal with emotions, relationships, anger, and the coming to grips with the life of twenty-something-year-olds at that time. Listen to the first track "Retarded" with its ugly words, wailing guitar, and ear piercing screams. "White Trash Party" picks .
