What he does with distant cities, this album of original music inspired by the game does with different genres and artists. Major Lazer and Khalid bridge soul and EDM on “Trigger.” Bring Me the Horizon crosses cyberpunk, metal, and pop on “Ludens.” And CHVRCHES sheds nourishing, uplifting light on the title track. Some songs are moody and waft by on distant clouds, others are claustrophobic and agitated, but they all coexist harmoniously.
