About

Although <i>Aoxomoxoa</i>'s songs are relatively more concise than the sprawling numbers of the band’s previous album, <i>Anthem of the Sun</i>, this psychedelic soiree is just as trippy in its own right. It introduces a number of the Dead's live staples, like the galloping "St. Stephen" and the sprightly "China Cat Sunflower," but it also offers such lesser-known delights as the harpsichord-adorned folk ballad "Mountains of the Moon," the acid raga "What's Become of the Baby," and the acoustic, effects-slathered "Rosemary."
