About
Savatage started in the local bar scene in Tampa, Florida in the early 80's with their unique heavy metal sound. Savatage came out with their first album, Sirens, in 1983 and played the entire album in a local bar in Brandon, Florida (the heavy metal capital of the USA) for 3 weeks just as the album was released. Sirens was a huge hit with the Brandon heavy metalists, and Savatage was on their way to stardom and many more albums followed. .
