In March 2017, First Aid Kit held a concert in their home country of Sweden to honor Leonard Cohen, who died at the age of 82 a few months earlier. The sister duo called upon a band of Swedish musicians and assembled a set comprising their favorite Cohen songs and poems, broadcasting the performance live on television. <i>Who by Fire</i> captures that performance for the rest of us, opening with an arrangement of “Suzanne” that leans heavily on their trademark vocal harmonies. Another highlight is the title track, which seamlessly marries Cohen’s music with his poetry.
