Cross Purposes, released in January 1994, is the 17th studio album by English heavy metal Band Black Sabbath. It is the fourth studio album to feature Tony "The Cat" Martin, the second-longest serving Sabbath vocalist. Dehumanizer saw the reunion of Mob Rules-era Black Sabbath, but, after the tour, Ronnie J. Dio and Vinny Appice departed. They were replaced by former Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin and former Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli. Original bassist Geezer Butler also stayed with the band for the Cross Purposes album and tour. The song "Cardinal Sin" was originally intended to be titled "Sin Cardinal Sin" (or .
