About

Original Alice in Chains vocalist Layne Staley shines in this powerful performance, which would be one of his last live appearances ever. His torn-up vocals are the passionate lifeblood of this acoustic set, fuelling the uneasy darkness of “Rooster” and delivering the lonesome howl that makes this rendition of “Down In a Hole” unforgettable. The band’s gloomy energy haunts throughout, but the skewed, dissonant grunge of the closing “The Killer Is Me” is especially mesmerizing and harrowing.
