About

On his stunning debut, Sam Roberts churns out an irresistible take on heartland guitar rock, from the boot-stomping beat of the opener, "Hard Road," to the Beatlesque shuffle of "Paranoia." We're particularly fond of the sweet, handclapping groove on the thoroughly danceable "Brother Down," not to mention the mesmerizing violin on the achingly romantic psychedelic love song "Taj Mahal." Like most instruments featured on the album, the track was played by Roberts himself.
