Hard Skool is a song from the Chinese Democracy sessions. It originally leaked as a 16-second snippet in 2006 under the title 'Checkmate'. In a 2008 forum Q&A, Axl Rose confirmed 'Checkmate' to be a fake title, while joking that the real title was 'Jackie Chan'. On July 26 2019, a new 28-second snippet leaked, with the tracklisting of a demo disc from 2000 revealing the real title as 'Hardschool', and the full track leaked on August 24. The reworked version with Slash and Duff McKagan, was released as their 2nd new song in 13 years on September 24 2021. .
