About
Recorded in Tokyo during their Hell Bent for Leather tour, Unleashed In the East shows British heavy-metal gods Judas Priest at their most ferocious as they shred through most of their ’70s-era classics. Though the album isn’t 100 percent live—overdubs of Rob Halford’s vocals were later recorded—the quintet sound unstoppable on “Sinner,” their intricate riffs giving way to evil guitar wails. Proto-speed-metal anthem “Exciter” is tackled at breakneck tempo, while “Victim of Changes” culminates in one of Halford’s signature falsetto screams.
