About

Supergroup This Mortal Coil sprang from the 4AD label in the early ‘80s, covering '70s psych and folk songs and writing new experimental material. With its palette of minimalist dream pop, undulating reverb, and melancholy moods, It'll End in Tears came to influence the likes of Sigur Rós, Julee Cruise, and Nine Inch Nails. The crown jewel is Cocteau Twins' heart-wrenching cover of Tim Buckley's "Song to the Siren," followed by a mournful, violin-soaked version of Big Star's "Kangaroo."
