About

With this 1988 debut, Philly’s Britny Fox took their AC/DC- and Nazareth-inspired riffage to MTV-star heights. Singer “Dizzy” Dean Davidson’s chainsaw vocals pull with rock-star aplomb arena anthems such as “Livin’ on the Edge,” “In America,” and “Rock Revolution.” '80s-era Kiss would’ve kissed each Britny Fox member to record the ballad “Save the Weak” and the hit “Long Way to Love.” But the power chords and shags work best when the band tip their hats to ’70s glam: their cover of the Slade boot-stomper “Gudbuy T’ Jane” rules, and their own “Girlschool” would’ve made a killer Runaways tune.
