About

MMHMM could be the purest distillation of Relient K—that is, a perfect blend of thrashing pop-punk, earworm melodies, irreverent humor, and authentic faith. Many of these songs rank among their best, including the rousing prodigal’s anthem “I So Hate Consequences,” the crunching rock ‘n’ roll of “High of 75,” and the sweet and funny relationship song “My Girl’s Ex-Boyfriend.” The epic closer, “When I Go Down,” runs through the band’s biggest influences—from folk to punk to The Beach Boys—over the course of nearly seven minutes.
