Almendra, or more commonly Almendra I, is the name given to the first studio album by the Argentine rock band Almendra, released on November 29, 1969 by RCA VIK. The album cover only says "Almendra". It had a decisive influence on the founding of the musical subgenre known in Argentina as rock nacional and on the creation of a new Rioplatense song. It is considered the sixth best Argentine rock album on the list of the 100 Best compiled by Rolling Stone magazine. The song "Muchacha (ojos de papel)" with which the album opens is a classic of rock en .
