About
Friction, Baby; the second studio album by Better Than Ezra-- although keeping its rustic roots-- did not match up to the success of Deluxe. No one can tell you why, except that the songs were written for an earlier audience. It remained substantial as the band wrote about homeless people, suicide, tumultuous relationships, and 'Mejor de Ezra.' There are some scary lyrics in "Normal Town" and "Scared, Are You?" (which sounds like a challenge and a confession at the same time, doesn't it?). Funnily enough, there are even some songs in here that would be perfect for a hipster playlist. .
