About

After an insanely busy stretch during the late '70s, Bob Seger hit the ‘80s running. A more polished affair than Night Moves or 'Live' Bullet, Against the Wind adds a little glitter to the band’s otherwise dressed-down sound, whether it’s a touch of synthesizer on the ballads (“No Man’s Land,” “You’ll Accomp’ny Me”) or innuendo on the rockers (“Her Strut,” “The Horizontal Bop”). Not that the band lost their substance—just listen to the lament of the title track, where Seger tinkers with his favorite trope—nostalgia: “Wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then.”
