About

Iggy Pop cashed in on his punk credentials here, building a backing band consisting of original Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, Patti Smith guitarist Ivan Kral, and Rich Kids guitarist Steve New. The band catch magic on “Knocking ‘Em Down (In the City),” where the dueling guitars create a bed of sound for Pop’s shouting to fall into. Underneath the acoustic guitar of “Loco Mosquito” is a fiercely strutting bassline, leaving no question that the punk icon could expand his taste without losing his cool.
