About

After five years in the industry, the Ramones searched for pop hits here and showed a particular facility for catchy melodies. The result was some of the best love songs the band has ever produced: Swelling, radio-ready backround vocals lift up “She’s a Sensation,” and “7-11” bops along on ‘60s-style swooning harmonies. But the Ramones didn’t lose their hard-rock edge, attacking an industry they now looked at with more cynical eyes on the hard-charging “We Want the Airwaves,” where Joey snarls about smashing radios.
