"The Avenger" is the second studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Amon Amarth, released on 2 September 1999 through Metal Blade Records and Sony Music. It was the first album by the band to feature guitarist Johan Söderberg and drummer Fredrik Andersson, completing a line-up that remained stable until Andersson’s departure in 2015. The album was issued in multiple formats, including a digipak edition containing the बोनस track "Thor Arise", a re-recording of the title track from the band’s earlier demo "Thor Arise". A vinyl LP version was also released. In 2005, Metal Blade Records reissued the album .
