"Beyond Magnetic" is the third extended play by the American heavy metal band Metallica, initially released on December 13, 2011, on iTunes, with later releases through other formats in 2012. The EP contains four tracks that were originally recorded for the band's ninth studio album, "Death Magnetic" (2008), but were left unfinished during the album’s final mixing. The music on "Beyond Magnetic" is predominantly thrash metal, though the tracks display a range of styles. The EP’s release coincided with Metallica’s 30th anniversary shows at The Fillmore, where one track from the EP was performed live at each show prior to .
