By the early ’90s, the Ramones were on the verge of calling it quits on their long run of punk dominance. Still, they had plenty of gas left in the tank—particularly when it came to their live performances. Marky Ramone’s drums steal the show, building fast and heavy big beats around classics like “Teenage Lobotomy” and “Pet Sematary.” Joey Ramone’s signature low yelps cut through the clash of guitars on “Blitzkrieg Bop” so clearly that for a moment it sounds like 1976 all over again.
