About
One of stoner metal’s most extreme slabs, <i>Dopethrone</i> is a violent rebuke to anybody who mistakenly assumes that all highs are mellow. The weed-worshipping power-trio pour all manner of alienation and self-loathing into their gargantuan riff rumble. On “We Hate You,” howler Jus Oborn describes himself as a “seed of hate from the day I was born.” The band actually manage to intensify the darkness on the title cut, which offers 10 frightening, yet exhilarating, minutes of pained screams drowning in hellish low-end.
