"I Robot" is the second studio album by British rock band The Alan Parsons Project are, released on 8 July 1977 by Arista Records. The album is a concept work inspired by the science fiction Robot stories of Isaac Asimov and explores themes relating to artificial intelligence and the relationship between humans and machines. The album was initially intended to be a direct adaptation of Asimov's "I, Robot" stories. Eric Woolfson spoke with Asimov, who was reportedly supportive of the idea. However, because the rights had already been granted to a television and film production company, the title was altered .
