One of the most talented, charismatic, and unpredictable artists working today, Georgia Anne Muldrow has put out a gang of material since her 2006 debut EP, including the albums <i>Olesi: Fragments of an Earth</i>, <i>King's Ballad</i>, and <i>Owed to Mama Rickie</i>, plus multiple projects under different aliases (Jyoti, Pattie Blingh & The Akebulan Five) and G&D, her project with frequent collaborator/life partner Dudley Perkins. Her style is hard to describe but easy to dig: she's a relentlessly positive, spiritually aware woman, unafraid to experiment with nontraditional song structures and genre-blending on just about every track. While she usually produces all of her own material, on <i>Seeds</i> she hands the sonic control over to likeminded L.A. beat maestro Madlib, who's hyper-talented, prolific, and musically all over the place in his own right. The two of them sound great together, and it's a surprise that it took this long for them to collaborate on a whole album. <i>Seeds</i> inhabits a space somewhere between Erykah Badu and Sun Ra, with soulful tunes and good vibes to spare.
