About
There’s long been a sense that Lucero are going for broke in their punk-inflected roots rock. A case in point: 1372 Overton Park. Horns blast through the relentless, Memphis rock ’n’ soul drive of “What Are You Willing to Lose," and the organ swells and dramatic piano of “Hey Darlin’ Do You Gamble?” set the scene for a romantic escape. “Mom” is a poignant curtain-closer, as Ben Nichols reassures his mother that he and his brother will always be her boys.
