About

While serving over half a four-year sentence in a Nevada prison, singer Ronnie Radke put together the songs that comprise the post-hardcore band Falling In Reverse’s 2011 debut album. Having previously fronted Escape the Fate, Radke was well versed in song-crafting. While imprisoned, he enlisted band members who would meet with Radke during visiting hours to pull the songs from his head. Shortly after his release they recorded The Drug In Me Is You. “Raised By Wolves” opens with equal parts pop-punk and melodic post-hardcore. Heavy guitars accompany a thunderous rhythm section over which Radke’s inner demons go head-to-head in the form of a smooth voiced singer and a throat-grating screamer. “Tragic Magic” plays like an intimate recounting of his trials and tribulations. A burning sense of post-adolescent urgency makes the album’s title-track an obvious standout before “The Westerner” ends on an autobiographical confession.
