Fusing thundering breakbeats with mammoth hard rock, Pendulum launched drum 'n' bass into the stratosphere on their second album. From the swaggering blues riffs and searing howls of "Showdown," it's clear that this is a new breed of D 'n' B—more Led Zep than Metalheadz. Throw in horns and surf guitar ("Propane Nightmares"), vocoders and IDM ("Midnight Runner"), and what might be robots playing T. Rex on kazoo ("Mutiny"), and you get an album that could convert even the staunchest rocker to electronic music—and vice versa.
