The New Orleans necromancer was in an apocalyptic mood when he recorded this truly trippy and often confusing but remarkably innovative blend of Afro-Caribbean sounds and avant-garde moves, setting freeform New Orleans chants to oddball time signatures amid throbbing percussion and a sassy female chorus. Martians capture the First Family in the surreal "Twilight Zone," and a children's choir croons nationalist anthems throughout the sarcastic spiel of "The Patriotic Flag Waver."
