"With his third solo release (following <i>Secondary Protocol</i> and the <i>Jackal EP</i>), Oxnard MC Wildchild continues to impress, dropping intricate wordplay atop strong production from Black Milk, Kev Brown, and longtime co-conspirator/fellow Lootpack member Madlib. Far from a gangsta but also not a stereotypical ""abstract"" rapper, he serves up dense verses dripping with subtle humor and insight, declaring his love for true hip-hop but avoiding the usual back-to-the-old-school clichés. Hiero homies Souls of Mischief co-star on ""How We Do,"" Stones Throw fam Oh No and MED appear on ""Eyes Wide Shut,"" Detroit duo Frank-N-Dank stop by for ""Ox to the D,"" and pioneers Special Ed, Masta Ace, Percee P, and MC Lyte go off on the triumphant posse cut ""The League."" There are a few skippable joints in the mix, but for the most part, <i>Jack of All Trades</i> is another W for Wildchild. "
