About
Wake Up and Smell the Coffee is the fifth studio album by the Irish alternative rock band The Cranberries, released on October 22, 2001, by MCA Records. This release marked a significant reunion for the band, as they re-teamed with producer Stephen Street, who had previously helmed their first two multi-platinum albums, Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? and No Need to Argue. The album signaled a conscious effort to return to the band's acoustic-driven roots, steering away from the heavier, more experimental sounds of their late-90s work. Frontwoman Dolores O'Riordan described the record as a reflection .
