About

Mark Kozelek “went solo” at the end of his folk-rock band Red House Painters’ successful run throughout the ‘90s, and one of his first projects as Sun Kil Moon was Tiny Cities, a curiously subdued, excellently produced album of Modest Mouse covers. These tracks show the tender side of Modest Mouse’s amped-up indie rock, with tracks like “Tiny Cities Made of Ashes” and “Ocean Breathes Salty” thriving with Kozelek’s dreamy guitar textures, hushed singing, and languid pacing.
