With its thick web of glossy guitars and its lofty choruses, “Lost Verses” is a thoroughly beautiful composition; whispered guitar ostinatos blossom into incredible, delicate polyphony on “Heron Blue.” It’s clear these songs are products of extreme focus and discipline, making <i>April</i> one of Kozelek’s dreamiest and most listenable records.
