About
<i>Inspiration Information</i> was released in 1974, when Shuggie Otis was 23. He recorded this introspective funk and soul milestone in his L.A. home studio over three years and played every instrument himself, including the Maestro Rhythm King MRK-2, which provided Otis' music its sad-robot charm. The title track is classic California psychedelic soul, and "Aht Uh Mi Hed" is a slow sliver of electro-folk intimacy. With this reissue, Sony added <i>Wings</i>, featuring a slew of ambitious funk-rock tunes that Otis wrote between 1975 and 2000.
