About
Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Pendulum—amazingly, their sixth album in three years—is a heavier affair, with some of its songs (“Pagan Baby”) seemingly influenced by garage-style bands like The Stooges. Still, many aspects of these tracks maintain CCR’s trademark bluesy levity, like the funky keyboards of “Chameleon” and, of course, the lyrical grandness of “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?,” which is one of John Fogerty’s most enduring songs. Pendulum, with its crisp immediacy and soulful grooves, remains a gem.
