About
The idea of things smashing into each other at high speed is pretty metal, which is why the supercollider represented in the album’s title and art is an apt image for Megadeth’s 2013 effort, a work whose cosmic, grainy guitars (the title track) and breakneck riffs (“Kingmaker”) maintain a high-intensity energy throughout. Album closer “Cold Sweat” (a Thin Lizzy cover) is a Dave Mustaine power show, complete with amped-up, gravelly delivery and a mind-blowing guitar solo.
