Last.FM has done a nice service by releasing five of the ten songs from Cal's first Verve recording. Paul Horn plays the seldom heard Bass Flute on 'Trieste', but in the brief clip provided here, Horn doesn't start playing it yet. Four of the five tunes provided by Last.FM are available as re-issues on CD compilations elsewhere, and it should be pointed out that the one new song found here is 'Mambo in Miami'. Somehow, though, 'Speak Low' is not the track found on the original album. It may be a Cal Tjader interpretation, but Lonnie Hewitt, the pianist on .
