About
Resplendent in Greg Diamond’s swirling “Love Boat Theme” mix of disco beats, strings, Latin percussion, and horns, the Andrea True Connection’s debut is a classic bit of polished dancefloor kitsch (also deserving credit is Tom Moulton, who remixed the album just prior to release). True’s star rose considerably with the chart-topping title track (one of the most impressive of many one-hit disco wonders of the era), but this would prove to be an anomaly in light of the dismal sales of her sophomore album, White Witch. Considering True’s highly mixed and less-than-amazing vocal talents, though, a single splash is all .
