In 1973, Elvis and his band recorded a dozen nights’ worth of mega-sessions at Memphis’ legendary Stax studios, with the results dished out across a number of '70s releases. Gathered together here, those tracks show the latter-day King completely in his element, lending his soulful gravitas to tunes like Tony Joe White’s perky "I've Got a Thing About You Baby," Danny O'Keefe’s melancholy "Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues,” and Chuck Berry's breathless travelogue "Promised Land."
