"W.A.S.P." is the debut studio album by the American heavy metal band W.A.S.P., released on August 17, 1984. The album has appeared under several names in different releases. The spine of the original European vinyl edition featured the title "Winged Assassins", while early cassette editions displayed the name of the opening track, "I Wanna Be Somebody", prominently on the cover. The album is officially titled "W.A.S.P." and is commonly referred to by that name. Recording took place at the Record Plant studio over a period of approximately two and a half weeks.
